JEAN, James (Jin Shew Tong) - December 1, 1934 – October 10, 2021
James died peacefully October 10, 2021 with his wife Lorraine at his side.
James will be profoundly missed by Lorraine, daughters Lorra (Warren) and Lorna (Robert) and grandchildren Matthew, Benjamin, Julia, Ryan and William.
James was predeceased by his only son Jason. Born in Shu San, Toi Shan, Guang Dong, China, James emigrated to Canada in 1952. A mutual friend introduced James and Lorraine.
They would be married in 1958 and were happily by each other's side for 63 years. James and Lorraine loved to travel and visited dozens of countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Taking his children to Expo 67 and driving them across the continent and back were some of his favourite trips.
James always enjoyed food, and especially treating his children and grandchildren to dinner, whether at home or in a restaurant.
In later years, James would watch the Leafs with greater and greater frustration, but watched his grandchildren play minor hockey with great enjoyment.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chester Village for their compassion and care for James over the past eight years.
