Weinberg HershelWEINBERG, Hershel - July 22, 1929 - October 15, 2021 - Hersh died peacefully at home in his 93rd year.

Dearly loved husband of Helena Jaczek, survived by son Bruce, step-children Natasha and Nicholas (Jen), and pre-deceased by sons Eric and Ted.

Born in Toronto to parents Bernard Weinberg QC and Faye (nee Caplin), Hersh attended Forest Hill Collegiate, followed by stints at Dalhousie University, the University of British Columbia, and the University of Southern California, where he obtained his degree in Architecture.

He went on to graduate with a Master's degree in Town Planning from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Returning to Canada, he worked in Planning Departments in Etobicoke, Hamilton, and York Region, where he was Commissioner of Planning until his retirement.

Hersh's real passion was building houses, which he did in Florida, Tobago and Ontario. Always a perfectionist, his detailed knowledge of construction was amazing. He will be sorely missed for his opinionated views and sense of humour.

A private funeral and interment at Beth Tzedec cemetery have taken place.
