NAHIRNIAK, Walter   - Suddenly and unexpectedly, on October 19, 2021, Walter, Wally, Pan N., Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Teacher, Principal, Coach, Mentor, Traveller, Fisherman, Golfer, old music and good food aficionado, faithful friend to Ukrainian culture, and supportive fan of the Montreal Canadiens, passed away.

Wally is survived by his wife Lynda (Pratt) of 49 years, children Kristy, Andrew (Carmelina Galati), grandchildren Katia and Christian, sister Mary (John Norris), brother-in-law Douglas and family, many nieces and nephews and countless loving friends.

Predeceased by parents Wasyl and Anastasia and in-laws Ted and Terry (Pratt). Wally was born on August 14, 1946, in Wildeflecken, Germany.

Two years later he and his mother followed his dad to Canada and to Rouyn Noranda, Quebec.

The family then relocated to Toronto, where Wally attended Humberside Collegiate, York, Toronto and Niagara Universities. His teaching and coaching career began with the TDSB and was completed upon retirement from DPCDSB as Principal from his beloved St. Sofia.

Although Wally was deprived of the final chapter of his life, struggling with dementia, he remained a kind, generous, fun-loving friend, soulmate and neighbour.

Arrangements with Glen Oaks Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vita Centre Charity (support for vulnerable families) that Wally strongly supported (vitacentre.org), would be greatly appreciated.
