Jaszczyszyn OrestJASZCZYSZYN, Orest  - Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the age of 68.

He was born to Magdalena and Ivan Jaszczyszyn in Montreal, Quebec.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Thompson) Jaszczyszyn, his three children, Michael, Megan and Matthew, as well as his two grandchildren Alice and Abgail.

Orest attended Loyola University in Montreal and earned a degree in Psychology.

During this time, he was also an avid photographer and played organized football for a Montreal team.

During university and post graduation Orest worked at The Bay in Loss Prevention.

During that time Orest applied to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and became a member in September of 1976. Orest worked as an officer for the RCMP for a period of 40 years.  He was a well-respected officer who mentored others.

Orest's passion for his career carried over to his eldest son Michael who also joined the RCMP. Megan and Matthew also went on the be successful in their own careers.

Orest retired from the RCMP on January 13, 2017 at the rank of SGT upon a diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease.

He spent more time serving his country as an officer than he did living as a civilian.

Upon his retirement he moved from Markham, Ontario to St. Albert in Alberta to spend his remaining years alongside his wife, children and grandchildren. Orest was a loving husband and father who cared deeply for his family.

Orest was cremated and his ashes will be buried beside his parents in Montreal.

This will take place late summer; for the immediate family.

In honor of Orest's battle with Alzheimer's Disease, his family is kindly requesting donations to be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada to help advance research for a cure to this disease.
