Akeson GlennAKESON, Glenn Michael   -  Passed away suddenly on November 24, 2021 at the Hamilton General Hospital.

Beloved husband of Petra (nee Bekkers) for 55 years.

Devoted dad of Lee-Ann (the late Luis), Brent (Valerie) and Kerri (Jason).

Doting grandfather to Macy, Mia, Griffin, Faith, Sydney and Noah.

Survived by sister Marilyn (the late Keith). Predeceased by parents Lester and Ella (nee Hayther) and his brother Warren.

Glenn worked in the steel industry for over 45 years and was also one of the founding partners of Green Valley Steel in 1995.

Glenn founded The Magic of Metals Children's Foundation, which benefited the Children's Wish Foundation for over 30 years.

Glenn was also awarded the Caring Canadian Award from the Governor General in 2012 for recognition of his volunteer service and dedication.

He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends, and especially loved his time spent as a snowbird in Florida with his beloved wife. Later in life, he spent many days off enjoying a cup of coffee with the boys at Fortinos.

His presence in our lives will be dearly missed. The family wish to thank Dr. Lamy, the Hamilton General Surgical team and staff for their care.

A Funeral Mass has taken place.

Donations to the Make a Wish Foundation or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
