BERNASIEWICZ, Chester (Czeslaw)  - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, Dziadzia, brother and uncle Chester (Czeslaw) Bernasiewicz, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 79 years of age.

Czeslaw came to Canada from Poland through his sister Marysia, at the age of 21, and began his life in Montreal, living with his brother Joseph until he moved out on his own to begin his life in Toronto.

He met the love of his life Ela (Mika), and they created an incredible life over the next 55 years of marriage.

They raised three boys: Richard (Lisa), Michael (Victoria), and Matthew (Lisa). Chester was beloved Dziadzia to Diana, Emily, Lukas, Catherine and Alison; and step-grandparent to Kristina and Luca.

He was the jovial uncle to all his nephews and nieces.

Ela and Chester tirelessly dedicated themselves to their family and business, Kaye's Barber Shop and Beauty Salon, on Roncesvalles Ave., for over 50 years.

His greatest title and identity was "Chester the Barber". He cut hair for over 60 years and took great pride in his work caring deeply for his loyal customer base. In fact, he never wanted to put his scissors down.

A visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., on Wednesday; and a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, 122 Rathburn Rd., Etobicoke (E. of Hwy. 427), on Thursday December 2, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.

Due to the restrictions still in place surrounding COVID-19, attendance at the visitation and service is limited with registration required.
