Bentley ChrysBENTLEY, Chrys Alan,  MusBac, MSMus   - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chrys Bentley, peacefully at home on Thursday, December 23, 2021 after a long battle with many chronic illnesses.

Chrys was in his 69th year.

Chrys was the beloved son of Gordon and Jane Bentley, and was lovingly cared for by his sister Gordi Ann.

He was a dear son, brother, uncle to one nephew and many nieces, and friend and musical inspiration to many.

Chrys had a great love and talent for music, and achieved his ARCT at age 15 prior to attending the University of Toronto for a Bachelor of Music degree.

He started his musical career as a teenager as organist at a small church in Maple, ON. This was followed by many years as musical director at churches such as Lyndwood United Church, First United Church, Glenview Presbyterian Church, and more. He was a longstanding conductor and musical director of the Mississauga Choral Society.

The family would like to thank PSW Marene who was a devoted caregiver and friend, and the many other caregivers, doctors and nurses who have been part of Chrys' care.

We would also like to thank the friends whose help, support, and random acts of kindness have been greatly appreciated over the last several months.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in his honour, or to a charity of your choice.

A celebration of life will follow in the spring.
