LIDDELL, Donald Elmo - It is with heavy hearts the family of Donald announce his passing, on Sunday, January 2, 2022, in his 83rd year, after a brief illness.
Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife Elaine (nee Banyard), his parents Elmo and Edna (nee Mesley), his brother John David "Buddy" Liddell, and his grandson Dean.
Loving father of Steven (Jamie Lee), Don (Debbie), David (Nancy), Michael (Andrea), and Laurene.
Grandfather to Ryan, Dean, Erica, Alex, Christine, Troy, Rachael, and Jaxson. Born in Winnipeg, Don grew up in Etobicoke where he spent much of his adult years.
He married Elaine in 1983 and they settled in south Mississauga where he lived for the remainder of his life.
He enjoyed spending time with family, summers in Muskoka and had a love of classic cars and trains.
He was exceptionally grateful to the family and friends who supported him over the years, particularly in the last months of his life after the passing of Elaine in 2020.
A graveside service will be held for Don at Park Lawn Cemetery, Etobicoke, on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Please meet at the graveside located in Section K. COVID-19 Pandemic Restrictions Apply.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to The Compass Foodbank where he spent many years volunteering.
