Gaiger DelphineGAIGER, Delphine Mar (Dell)  -  November 6, 1926 - December 31, 2021

Dell passed away peacefully in her 96th year and in her home of 66 years with family by her side.

Dell is predeceased by her adoring husband and high school sweetheart, Arthur George Gaiger, her parents, Howard Phillips and May Knowelden and her three siblings, Mary, Nell and Alfred.

Dell is survived by her loving daughters, Janet Adamson (Dennis) and Sue Hamilton, her beloved grandson Kevin Adamson (Kim) and her sister Bette Buckner (Ron).

Dell will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and the Buckner, Thompson, Kitching and Gaiger families.

Dell grew up in the "Beach" area of Toronto, the middle of five children and attended Danforth Technical School. She worked briefly at Bell Canada before she married Art Gaiger in 1946.

Shortly afterwards, they welcomed their first daughter Janet, followed by Sue.

Dell loved children and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and auntie, excelling at being sweet and making a good home, with many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, baking and gardening.

She was always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in time of need and was welcoming to all.

Dell was a real gem, a sweet, humble and likeable person with an infectious laugh, the heart and soul of our family and she will be sorely missed.

Special thanks go out to Sue for her caregiving, James, Nurse Practitioner, Mary Ann devoted PSW, LHIN, and to special neighbours, the Neals and the Chamberlains.

Following cremation Dell will be resting in the Veterans' Section of Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough, Ontario, next to her late husband and "under the apple tree". Due to the current pandemic situation, a Celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice or a local food bank would be appreciated.
