TOMS, Julijs Adolfs   - December 18, 1932 - December 29, 2021

Suddenly, in late December, our Uncle Jules Toms passed on to join his beloved wife, Leonora Pasquantonio Toms, who died in 2011.

Fondly remembered and mourned by nephews, niece, and their spouses: Martin (Margaret) Baccari of Spanaway, Washington State; Marilyn (Lou) Buscarini of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Gary (Pam) Dimitrie of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Norman (Karen) Radke of Ottawa; Phillip (Carolynne) Radke of Bruce Mines, Ontario; and Dean (Ann) Tudor of Toronto. Jules came to us from Latvia with his parents and was active in Toronto's Latvian community.

He was a valued employee at the Canadian Standards Association, from which he had retired at the right age to enjoy his travels with Leonora through time-shares, and to further pursue his pistol club activities with his Latvian friends.

In his last years, his activities curtailed by COVID-19 protocols, Jules was an avid reader of every page of the Toronto newspapers. All of his nephews and niece – and indeed anyone who knew Jules - will miss the dry Latvian humour that was a big part of his charm.

Cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held later (post COVID-19).

Memorial donations may be made in his name to your own favourite charities, or to Jules' church, Good Shepherd Community Church, 390 Bamburgh Cir. Scarborough M1W 3X3.

The Good Shepherd Community Church will be remembering Julijs following their online service on January 23, 2022. Please feel free to join them at gscc.ca .
