AVERY, Sheila   - 1937 - 2022   It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Avery.

Beloved wife of George Avery, loving mother of Timothy, grandmother of Matthew, Andrew and Eric and mother-in-law of Daniela Avery.

Daughter of the late Frank and Elva Ritchie.

Sheila grew up on a farm just north of Cold Springs, Ontario.

After marrying her husband in 1958, Sheila and George would go on to spend 63 precious years together before she passed away in her sleep, on the morning of January 14, 2022, at the age of 84.

A well-respected and admired coworker, Sheila spent upwards of 20 years as an admitting clerk at Etobicoke General Hospital.

Sheila was an active and integral member of the congregation at Martin Grove United Church.

She was a part of the Worship Committee there and both Sheila and George were essential in the organization of the Wishing Well BBQ which the church holds every year.

After moving into a long-term care home, Sheila spent the last months of her life in the excellent care of the staff at Revera Westside. Thank you to all the staff who worked with Sheila and provided her with the best possible care.

Resting at Newediuk Funeral Home, 2058 Kipling Avenue, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. Private funeral gathering. Webcast funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Martin Grove United Church would be appreciated.
