EWEN, Anna  -  It is with fondest memories, that the family of Anna Ewen says goodbye, after she passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 83.

She will be deeply missed by her husband and partner of 64 years, Ken Ewen, her two loving daughters Carolyn Ewen (Robert Richard), Susan McLean (Alan), her five grandchildren, Laura, Michelle, Mary, Niki and Scot, and three great-grandchildren Abigail, Luna and Nash.

Anna's absence will also be felt by her two sisters Marg Gillis and Eleanor Inglis (deceased) and by her nieces and nephews, to whom she played a loving role.

Throughout her life, Anna played a significant role in the running of Anken Farms and had several highly successful years racing standardbred horses.

This took Anna and Ken to the winners circle across Canada and the United States winning many prestigious awards, including an O'Brien Award.

Anna was well known at the Georgetown Hospital for her many years of selfless volunteer work for which she was honored by the government of Ontario with the Provincial Life Membership, in November 2001, for 20 years of service at the hospital and fundraising leadership. In addition, Anna also volunteered with the Red Cross during their blood drives.

Anna was an accomplished singer in her youth, enjoyed singing with the Knox Presbyterian Choir and once sung a solo at Maple Leaf Gardens. As a frequent Euchre shark, she may not be fully missed by her card mates as they will now not have to search for change after Anna took home the pots.

A private family service will be held in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home, on January 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. There will be a brief visitation preceding the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Those attending the visitation must be prepared to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgetown Hospital.
