WARD, David Gardner   -  David Gardner Ward passed away quietly and surrounded by family, on Friday, January 14, 2022, at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto.

He was 77 years old. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, on May 27, 1944, he lived in Toronto for most of his life.

He was a loving, devoted husband to Terry Ward (née Mernagh) for 38 years, and fiercely proud of his two children with her, Jennifer (Sean) and Christopher.

Newborn grandson Sam arrived in November 2021.

The son of Reverend Carl Gardner Ward and Madeline Ward (née Davison), David was the second-oldest in a family of four: Calli Brisbin (Scott), Ellie Ward (Rudi Carter), and Richard Ward (Marilyn).

Dear to David were his in-laws: Eddie (Dianne), Angie (Dave Tanaka), and Patrick and Marlene, and the late Edward and Olga Mernagh.

David had many beloved nieces and nephews, and treasured extended family and friends, including his longtime caregiver, Charmaine Vale.

Many of them will remember fondly David's passion for computers, his love for the family cottage in Quebec, and how much he enjoyed a glass of red wine, good food, and even better company.

A visitation will take place at Turner and Porter, Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, on January 22nd at 2:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
