ADAMSON, Duncan Allan Adamson - In Toronto, on January 16, 2022, from complications due to COVID.
Duncan is survived by his brothers George and Bill (Marlene), and extended family, his brothers Donald and Norman previously deceased.
He was born with several disabilities, in Toronto on July 28, 1940, and was not expected to live past 6 months.
The fact that Duncan thrived despite these odds is a testament to the love and care he received from his devoted parents William and Barbara.
Duncan lived at home with his family for 40 years before his parents passed.
It was then that his eldest brother George was able to find Kidbrooke, a small Community Living residential home specializing in the care of people with Duncan's disabilities. Duncan lived at Kidbrooke for 40 years.
He had friendships with his fellow residents and was much-loved by staff. The family is so very grateful for the love and care provided to Duncan over the years by Kidbrooke staff and want them to know we think they are angels.
Special thanks are also extended to Michael Garron Hospital doctors, nurses and other medical staff for their efforts in providing comfortable care for Duncan in his last days.
Duncan lived a simple life but it was a happy one filled with gentle care and love. RIP dear Duncan.
