Walker DouglasWALKER, Douglas Alexander Forbes   -  October 11, 1953 - January 15, 2022

Doug passed away peacefully at home after a long illness at the age of 68.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Teresa, and his children, Elizabeth, Catherine, William and Alexandra.

He will be dearly missed by his mother Helen Adele Walker, brothers Dave (Lisa) and Derek (Leslie), aunt Norein and cousin Deanne. He was predeceased by his father Donald.

Doug was a graduate of Thornlea Secondary School, York University, OISE (University of Toronto) and Seneca College. He worked as an accountant for Gulf Canada and Petro Canada for several years.

Doug was an avid reader and lifelong lover of music – both classical and jazz. He also loved visiting with neighbours and spending time at the family cottage, sitting by the lake.

Many thanks to his long-time caregivers, the staff at Anne Johnson Health Station, Selectacare and Metro Pharmacy. Thanks also to staff at the Freeman Centre, Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, and the cardiac units at Sunnybrook and North York General Hospital.

Your kindnesses will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on February 5, 2022 at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, North York. Visitation from 1-2 p.m. and service from 2-3 p.m.

Attendance numbers are limited, but the service will be livestreamed and recorded.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to WNED Classical and JAZZ.FM91 radio stations or the Toronto Public Library Foundation in support of arts programming.
