MADDEN, Nancy Catherine (nee WARREN)   -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Madden, on May 21, 2022.

She passed peacefully, surrounded by family.

Nancy was a cancer survivor and remained determined and courageous to the end.

Nancy is survived by her husband Neil, daughter Lorraine (Alex), sons Eric, Stephen and Rodger and grandchildren Jeanette, Ian, Jackie, Rebecca, Paul, Miranda, Serena, Maya and Lucas.

Nancy was born in 1935 in Montreal, later to be joined by her brother John and then sister Eleanor.

She carried beautiful memories of summers spent with her cousins in Windsor, QC. Nancy met her future husband Neil Madden at the Mountain Playhouse in Montreal, where they discovered their shared passion for the theatre.

After starting a family in Montreal, they moved to Don Mills, ON, in the mid-60's, where they soon discovered their new passion of thoroughbred horse racing, handicapping and blogging with other racing enthusiasts around the world. Nancy was a voracious reader and a quick wit.

If one entered an argument, one had to be prepared. Nancy (and Neil) inspired their children to think critically about current events and politics and be curious about the world around them.

A Celebration of Nancy's Life is being planned for this summer.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Nancy's memory to Covenant House or LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society would be greatly appreciated.
