Kuryliw IhorKURYLIW, Ihor  -   November 14, 1939 – June 4, 2022

Ihor passed away peacefully, after a tenacious 4-year battle with cancer.

He was deeply loved by, and will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Valentina (Mychajloswka), son Peter (Melissa Russell), daughter Ulyana (Daniel Kuzmycz) and granddaughter Nina, as well as his sisters Sonia and Oksana (John Leeson) and his sister-in-law Lydia (Daniel Huzyk).

Ihor was born and raised in Sudbury and taught History and Music at Lasalle Secondary School.

He was a talented musician who played the violin, bandura, alto horn and piano.

He moved to Toronto in 1973 and became a partner in Bloor Travel Agency where his extensive travels and his empathy proved to be invaluable assets.

He was an active member of the Ukrainian community in Sudbury and Toronto.

Ihor was a proud and long-standing member of The COSBILD Club, The Canadian Ukrainian Opera Association and the Hole in One Tennis Group, among others.

Visitation, Thursday, June 9, 2022, 5:00 p.m. and Panachyda at 6:00 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Friday, June 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints of Ukraine Chapel, St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre, 1280 Dundas St. W., Oakville.
