POLLOCK, William "Bill" James  -   September 22, 1939 - May 31, 2022

William James Pollock, aged 82, longtime Scarborough resident, passed away surrounded by family, at Oshawa Lakeridge, due to pneumonia and complications from Covid he acquired in hospital.

He will be greatly missed by Pamela, his loving wife of 56 years; his daughters, Irene, Fiona (Keith); and grandchildren, Callum (Morgan), and Elena.

Bill was born, raised and completed his electrician apprenticeship in Glasgow, Scotland.

He served 5 years overseas in the RAF as a "covert" Radar Installer. He moved to Stevenage, England where he met Pamela Dawson through work.

They married, had their first child and in 1968, immigrated to Canada with their many family and friends, settling in the Toronto area. Bill was a Project Coordinator and longtime employee and retiree of Smith & Long Ltd.

Volunteerism played a large role throughout his life as he was a member of the Highland Creek Lions Club, past President of the Canadian Toy Collectors Society that he belonged to for 50 years, and a Legionnaire.

When he wasn't coaching his girls and grandkids soccer, he would be seen on various sidelines in arenas and auditoriums as a proud supporter. He is fondly remembered for his Gaelic phrases and songs, witty humour and stories, and especially his love for his family, friends and pets.

Bill has been cremated and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

Donations are directed to Lung Assoc., or Highland Creek Lions Club.
