McKenzie Dr StephenMcKENZIE, Dr. Stephen   -  It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Stephen McKenzie, at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Stephen was a loving husband to his wife, a proud father to his son and daughter, and an adoring grandfather to his grandson.

Stephen graduated from the University of Ottawa medical school with the highest academic standing before embarking on a 40-year career as a much-loved and respected neurologist at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga, where he was one of the neurology department's founding members.

Always generous with his time in caring for patients, he was a leader in the field of multiple sclerosis.

He was equally a passionate and dedicated educator and mentor to three generations of medical students at the University of Toronto.

He had a lifelong love of literature and classical music and took great pleasure in the gifts of nature as an avid sailor and cyclist.

Believing strongly in active citizenship, he spoke with elected representatives about the need to preserve our natural world for future generations. Private family cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Stephen's life will take place at Credit Valley Golf & Country Club, 2500 Old Carriage Road, Mississauga, on Sunday, August 14th, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. (masks are requested to be worn).

The family would appreciate donations in Stephen's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
