NEAL, John Charles Neal, F.C.I.A., - 1945 - 2022 , passed away on August 13, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.
John is survived by his wife, Gemma, his children, Tara (Simon), and Erin (Tim), and his grandchildren, Declan, Kayleigh, and Charlotte.
At the age of only 29, John was the Chief Actuary at the Worker's Compensation board from 1975 to 1994.
John and his business partner, Bruce Neville, founded Nexus Actuarial Consultants in 1990, where he worked until he retired in 2018, when he was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy with aphasia.
John taught his children to play chess, backgammon, ski, and more.
He always had a renovation or building project on the go. He loved to travel. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends may Visit on Thursday, August 18th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Vigil prayers at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 19th, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. Reception to follow.
