Daignault NormanDAIGNAULT, Norman Dean  -  The best view comes after the hardest climb.

Norman Dean Daignault, 74, passed away on August 29, 2022 after a bravely fought battle with Cancer and Lupus.

His family was at his side. Born on March 24, 1948 in Toronto, Ontario to Norman Joseph and Evelyn.

His formative years were spent with his brother and three sisters; and were filled with adventure, football and travel.

He was a historian, avid reader and sports fan.

In 1983, years of persistence paid off and Norm was married to the love of his life, Betty Anne Gemakas.

The two settled at Hilltop Farm in the Rouge Valley and raised a family. Father to Chantal (Dave), Charlene (Mike), Norman James (Brittany) and Brandon.

Proud grandpa to Desaray, Nathanial, Liam, Benjamin, Owen; great-grandpa to Angelina; and eagerly awaiting the arrival of his fifth grandson.

He was loving uncle and friend to many. An advocate for the Rouge Valley, he worked alongside community counselors to restore and protect natural and historial sites.

He lead an international exchange program; educating hundreds of students on the Rouge. The family would like to thank Dr. Ringnalda, Dr. Colwell and his devoted team; as well as the Centenary Hospital.

Per Norm's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer and Lupus Society of Canada.

"We shall meet beyond the river".
