Traianos EvangeliaRAIANOS, Evangelia   -  September 20, 1932 - September 8, 2022

We are heartbroken at the death of Evangelia, aka Angela, aka Leka.

Beloved mother (and mother-in-law) of Steve (Vicky), Elizabeth (Jim) and Nick (Krys).

Proud, doting "Baba Leka" to grandchildren, Alicia (Cooper) and Jake (Stephanie) and great-grandchildren, Penelope, Alexander, Maddox, and Maddox's soon-to-arrive sibling.

She died in her 90th year, yet far too soon.

We were able to honour her wish to be cared for and die in her family home of over 60 years with the help of the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Centre, of Mount Sinai Hospital.

Special thanks to the team of doctors, nurses and caregivers that gave support and comfort in her last days.

She came to Canada from Florina, Greece, to start a new life with her husband Peter ("Pane"), whom she lost in 2016, to her unending sorrow.

Predeceased by brothers, Chris and Peter, and sister, Thomai. Survived by brothers, John (Mary) and George, sisters-in-law Pauline, Diti and Zini, and by her many nephews and nieces (Teta Leka's Kings and Queens!) and their families. Evangelia was kind and caring to all she met and knew, neighbours, friends and family alike.

A gentle and warm person always, selfless, never negative or mean, truly concerned about each member of the family. She doled out lots of love, joy, support, wisdom, and entire bags of cookies.

Memory Eternal. Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Boulevard, on Sunday, September 11th, 4-8 p.m. Masks will be required in the chapel.  The Funeral Service will take place on Monday, September 12th, at 10 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Drive.
