Andrews RuthANDREWS, Ruth Eleanor Doris (nee GOULDEN) (formerly CARTWRIGHT)   -  Peacefully, on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in her 95th year.

Born on October 14, 1927 in Toronto, Ruth was the loving wife of the late Albert Cartwright (married 1948 - 1987) and the late Bert Andrews (married 2003 - 2004).

Cherished mother of Cynthia (Donald Offen), the late Randall (Betty) and Edward (Mary Jo).

Lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and their spouses, nine great-grandchildren, special nieces and nephews, and a community of close friends.

A very devoted Christian, Ruth was inspired by her faith and lived by example.

She served as Director of Pastoral Care for the St. Hilda's Anglican Church community in Toronto, Lay Assistant at Toronto's King-Bay Chaplaincy and Director of Crusade Planning at Invitation to Live Crusades.

Ruth lived life to the fullest as an accomplished artist, master tailoress, and active explorer of every Canadian province and territory, and far beyond.

She designed and created her wedding gown and those of her attendants for her marriage to Al in 1948, flew on the Concorde over the North Pole, rode in a hot air balloon on her 70th birthday, and sat down to write her autobiography at age 79. She did all of this and more while being an extraordinary wife, Mom, Grannie and friend who could always be counted on for sage advice and loving counsel.

The family extends deepest gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at both St. Hilda's Towers Assisted Living, where Ruth spent many happy years, and Chartwell Gibson Long Term Care.

Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd., on Thursday, September 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held at St. Hilda's Anglican Church, 2353 Dufferin St., on Friday, September 30th at 11 a.m.

Please note that the parking garage immediately south of the church will be available for parking that day. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ruth's memory may be made to the University of Toronto's Wycliffe College designated for the Institute of Evangelism (institute.wycliffecollege.ca), or Yellow Brick House (www.yellowbrickhouse.org).

Colossians 3:23-24 --
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward."
