AKAI, Lauretta Dolores (nee Marks) - Lauretta passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Residence in Toronto at the age of 90 years.
Born in New Amsterdam, Guyana, in 1932, Lauretta built a career in the financial industry, moving to Trinidad in 1961 and then to Toronto, Canada, in 1973.
She will be forever cherished by her children, Marcia, Carl (Margaret) and Ken (Lena); grandchildren, Daniel, Caleb, Sonia, Ann; and great-grandchildren, Avi and Matthew. Lauretta's surviving sister, Cynthia Marks; along with her many nieces, nephews and their families will lovingly cherish the wonderful memories of times spent together.
Family and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., on Saturday, October 29th, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment to follow.
