Branny KathyBRANNY, Kathy   -  It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy Branny (nee Blakeney), age 70.

She died peacefully, at North York General Hospital, with her children by her side, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, who did so much for so many, while living her life to the fullest.

To have had that level of warmth, guidance, support and most of all, matriarchal love, daily, was the greatest gift of all.

Born March 6, 1952 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Isabel (nee Brunt) and Lloyd Blakeney, joining her older siblings, Myrna Birch (deceased) and Erv Blakeney (Marg) of Kentville, Nova Scotia.

Kathy volunteered extensively with the German Mills Community Centre Board as a secretary and co-chair as well as with Not Just Tourists-Toronto. Kathy is survived by Tom Branny; her children, Krista and Scott; their spouses, Ryan and Kathryn; her grandchildren, Ella, Jack, Hannah and Austen; her nieces and nephews; and extended family and many, many friends.

Tragically, she was taken far too early from us. Her positive spirit, kindness and generosity live on in all of us and now we carry on, trying to uphold her values as we grieve her loss.

We would like to thank the staff at North York General Hospital for their care, kindness, compassion and dedication. Cremation has taken place.

In honour of her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, North York, from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, November 28th.

In memory of Kathy, donations may be made to North York General Hospital.
