LOUGH, Herbert (Herb) William John    -  May 1, 1940 – November 21, 2022

Herb, a Montreal native and longtime teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, passed away peacefully, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Herb was a caring husband, brother, father, and grandfather, who approached life with a deep faith and an innate quiet strength that endeared him to those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann (of 47 years); sister, Cynthia; sons, Brendan (Dayle) and Martin; and daughters, Jane Ann (Patrick) and Kathleen (Jason). In addition, he will be greatly missed by his nine grandchildren, who loved him dearly: Matthew, James, Bronwyn, Karoline, Clare Ann, Genevieve, Anthony, Michael Patrick and Thérèse.

Herb was an accomplished scholar, who shared his love of learning and musical talents with his family and the many students he taught over the course of his successful teaching career. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert Francis and Mildred (nee Townsend); brothers, Jeffrey and Timothy; and sister, Jennifer.

Visitation will take place at the Lynett Funeral Home (3299 Dundas Street West, Toronto) on Friday, November 25th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
