FORFAR, Herbert - February 16, 1929 - November 18, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Herbert Earl Forfar, at the tender age of 93, on November 18, 2022, at his residence.
Survived by his loving wife, Ruth (nee Mabley) of 68 years; his children, Donna Storey (Carl), Shirley Manchester (Mike), Ruthie (Nancy) and Gord (Lori).
Will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Marlene, Michelle, Bradley, Bailey, Alex, and Ben; and his great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kenzie and Damon.
Herb was born in the Toronto area in 1929 to parents Wilbur and Verona and was raised with his 5 siblings, all predeceased.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
A veteran of the Korean War (1951-1953), Herb became active in the Royal Canadian Legion and the Korea Veterans Association and was able to maintain contact with several of his army buddies for many years.
He was proud to don his dress uniform and participate in many Remembrance Day parades and services.
A long-time employee of the Toronto Star, circulation department, Herb enjoyed reading his daily Star to the end. Perhaps his greatest joy in life was his family. His eyes would light up when the little ones came for a visit.
He never tired of playing games when he was a little younger, while also imparting some of life's important lessons. Although he didn't have a lengthy formal education, he was wise in the ways of the world and there was little he couldn't fix or build. You will be sadly missed.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation to follow.
