ELWOOD, Norman  -  94, died peacefully December 3, 2022, at Runnymede Hospital in Toronto.

Norm was born October 12, 1928, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Robert Elwood and Louisa Gowdy In 1952, Norm was part of the original technician team that put the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on the air.

During his 40-year career at the CBC, Norm worked part-time as the House Projectionist for the Canadian head office of Warner Brothers Pictures - which he continued until age 84!

The true love of Norm's life was his high school sweetheart, Catherine Grady.

Together they raised five children in the west end of Toronto. Sadly, Catherine passed away in 2003.

Norm was preceded in death by two of his children, Patricia (1971) and Richard (2021); his sister, Mary; and brother, Bill. Norm is survived by his children, Michael (Kelly), Mark (Liza) and Cathy (Rae); and his grandchildren, Keelin, Eric, Robert, Michelle, Emily and Yvan.

Visitation will be held at Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas Street West, Toronto, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Lynett Chapel. Interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Charity of Your Choice.
