WALKER, Margaret   -  May 14, 1925 – October 13, 2022

Margaret Walker, age 96 of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on October 13, 2022.

Margaret was born in Birmingham, England, on May 11, 1926.

She was a World War II Vet, who served in the South Pacific and Australia.

She later trained as a Pharmacist and went on to work as Head Pharmacist at Guy's Hospital in London.

In the early 1970s, Margaret immigrated to Toronto and spent the next 40 years in a whirlwind of activity. Her passions were many and kept her active and engaged well into her 90's.

Whether she was advocating for her neighbours in her community of South Eglinton, or defending her medical decisions when doing her job as Senior Clinical Associate at McNeil Pharmaceutical, or pursuing her other interest which included hiking, flying, attending the Opera and skiing, having successfully taught all 3 of the Mason family children how to ski. Margaret was an honorary member of the Mason family of Caledon for over 50 years.

Zonta International was one of Margaret's passions. Zonta is an international organization of professionals that stands for women's rights.

They advocate for education and oppose child marriage and gender-based violence, empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

Margaret will be sorely missed by her family and close friends: Erica, Nicole, John and Helen Mason, Nita McCown, Glenna Morrison, and their spouses and children. There will not be a memorial, but rather a scattering of Margaret's ashes at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on January 5th, at 11 a.m.
