Gallos DimitriosGALLOS, Dimitrios (Jim)   -  It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dimitrios (Jim) Gallos, on March 5, 2023, while on vacation in Barbados.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy; by his three daughters, Christina, Niki, and Stavroula (Glen); and by his two grandsons, James and Matthew.

Brother to Fotios (Tasia), and uncle to Nick and Stavroula. Jim immigrated to Canada from Evaggelismos, Greece in August 1966.

Arriving with only $150.00 in his pockets, he flourished in his adopted country, becoming a successful businessman and the owner and operator of one of Toronto's largest janitorial companies, Apollo 8 Maintenance Services Limited.

After selling Apollo 8 in 2010, Jim travelled extensively, but his greatest joy was being able to spend several months of the year in his home country of Greece.

A keen soccer lover, Jim was president of the Olympiakos Toronto Fan Club for several years and maintained a close association with the club and its members both in Toronto and Greece. Jim was a very social person, well known for his generosity and his love of a good joke and story. He touched many people's lives, both in his business and private life, and will be much missed.

Funeral arrangements with Heritage Funeral Centre. Visitation Monday, March 27th 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., 50 Overlea Boulevard, Toronto. Funeral Tuesday, March 28th 2 p.m., St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Drive, Toronto.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
