COOKE, M.D., Gabriel Michael -
February 19, 1940 - March 21, 2023
After a long struggle with dementia, Gabriel Michael Cooke, M.D. of Galway, Ireland and later Toronto, Canada, passed peacefully, at home, with his adoring wife, Dee, by his side.
Dr. Cooke will be dearly missed by his sons, Michael, Niall, and Patrick; and their families, including 7 grandchildren, Connor, Sasha, Maddie, Niamh, Clare, Jameson and Lochlan.
Gabe was known for his keen intellect, appetite for learning and sharp wit. Gabe also had a passion for golf, squash, and jazz music and enjoyed driving to Florida each year with Dee.
The Cooke family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who looked after Gabe, especially Irene, Bernadeth, Sarah, Amos, Dr. Bernstein and Priscilla from Palliative Care, plus Debbie and the amazing people from The Care Company.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to St. Michael's Foundation (St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, Canada).
The service will be private with open reception to follow on the afternoon of Saturday, April 1st.
