Harry Ramsay passed away peacefully, the day before his 97th birthday in Toronto.
He was a loving husband to the late Patricia "Pat" Ramsay for 65 years. Dear father to Joan (Chris), Louise (Dave), Grant (Tim) and Christine (Scott); proud grandfather to Andrew and James; and uncle to Anne, Sharon, Anne, Joy, Janet and Paul. He is sadly missed by extended family members in Canada and UK.
He was born in Grand Forks, BC, and raised in Vancouver.
After graduating from Britannia High School, he joined a sub-branch of the Dominion Bank in Pioneer Gold Mines, BC, as a teller. He retired at age 60 as Senior Vice-President, International Credit, of the Toronto-Dominion Bank, a career banker for 41 years.
He enjoyed his work life as a banker, but said he enjoyed his 37 years of retirement more!
They were filled with family, travel, tennis (both playing and watching) and books.
The family thanks the staff of the Chartwell Grenadier for the past five years of care, especially the nurses and PSWs in the past few months.
His ashes will be interred at a later date in St. Margaret's-in-the-Pines Cemetery, Scarborough, beside his beloved Pat.
A donation to the Canadian Cancer Society is kindly requested, in lieu of flowers.
