CLARKE, John Douglas Clarke  -  (79) died peacefully March 22, 2023. 

 

Born in Toronto, son of Marjorie and John "Jack" Clarke.

 

Doug attended Brown school, North Toronto Collegiate and Northern Secondary school.

 

He obtained B.A. and B. Ed from University of Toronto M.Ed Wayne Sate, Doug taught high school for five years at Chatham Collegiate. He then obtained B.Comm and M.B.A University of Windsor.

 

Doug taught at the business school at the University of Windsor. He studied law J.D. Michigan State University and L.L.M. Wayne State. He practiced law in Leamington, Ontario for two years before teaching Business Law at Ryerson Univeristy (T.M.U.) from 1989 until his retirement.

 

His interests were collecting books, interacting with students and travel. He spent 49 summers at Lions Head.

 

He is survived by his wife Lorna of 53 years, also survived by his sister Joan Mattis (Ken) of Calgary, niece Lori Mattis (Bruce), and nephews Brian Mattis, David McKay, Jesper Lindeberg and Morten Jann Jesperson.

 

A memorial mass will take place at St. Basils Church, St. Joseph Street, Toronto at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 8th and interment at 3 p.m. Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
