Hodson Sir HenryHODSON, Sir Henry Hyde 'Harry'  -

January 23, 1942 - September 3, 2023

At the cottage on Georgian Bay, on a sunny Sunday afternoon, Harry left on his final adventure while holding the hand of his wife and best friend, Carol Ann Hodson (née Codarini).

He was a much beloved father to Laura (Paul Fournier), Mark (Tracy Wolgemuth) and Kelly (Jean Teitgen); and grandfather to Timothy, Samuel and Rachel Hodson, and Gaspard and Charlotte Teitgen, all of whom will miss his quiet understanding, his sense of adventure and his joie de vivre.

He will be dearly missed by his countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his wide circle of friends and their children, too.

He is survived by his siblings, Carol (Leo Oyer), Irene, Jane (Michel Therien) and Michael (Debbie). He joins his parents, George and Elsie (née Woodley); and his sister, Rosemary (David Merrall).

Harry was a Knight of St. Gregory, a papal honour conferred by the Church for his work with youth. His legacy as an educator and musician will live on in the spirits of all those students and families whose lives he touched through his life's work as a student, teacher, organist, conductor, principal and Director at St. Michael's Choir School.

Family and friends will be received at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street, on Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 16th at St. Michael's Cathedral, 65 Bond Street, Toronto, at 10:00 a.m. A reception will be held at St. Michael's Choir School Auditorium following the Celebration of Life.

To celebrate Harry and his zest for life, Carol invites you to wear a splash of colour to his Celebration of Life.

As Harry's vocation was service to youth, the family requests donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to St. Michael's Choir School, in support of the 'Harry Hodson Memorial Scholarship Fund' (www.smcs.on.ca/giving) or StepStones for Youth (stepstonesforyouth.givecloud.co/HarryHodson)
