Lewis VaughanLEWIS, J. Vaughan  -

September 19, 1926 - September 4, 2023

We are saddened to say that our dear father has passed - just days shy of his 97th birthday.

We take solace in knowing that he was blessed in life.

He had the ability to engage with anyone regardless of age - always ready with an interesting story and anecdote to entertain and interest you.

Our parents emigrated here in 1952, from Wales, with Susan - and had many adventures in Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.

Dad was bereft when our mom passed in 2005, but years later, became smitten with Sarah (Sally) Funderburk.

At 82, they married and had 11 happy years of life together, until Sally's passing in 2019.

They moved up to Lindsay to be closer to Susan, but while in Toronto, were all meaningfully involved with Dewi Sant, their Welsh Church.

He loved and cherished his four daughters, Susan (Ron), Janet (Jim), Carol (Garry) and Gillian (Steve); his grandchildren, Peter, Andrew, Blair, Jared, Pax, Leah, Emily and Victoria; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his cherished spouses, Megan Lewis (nee Charles) and Sarah Funderburk (nee Evans); sister, Elizabeth Lowson; parents, Doris (nee Narbett) and Colwyn Lewis. Vaughan will be missed by many in Wales and Canada.

The family want to give special recognition and gratitude for the incredible care given to Vaughan while in Victoria Manor.

As per his wishes, there will be a private memorial at a later date.
