Monka AgnesMONKA, Agnes Reta  -

JUNE 18, 1932 – SEPTEMBER 14, 2023

Agnes Reta Monka (nee Tournour) born June 18, 1932 in Toronto.

Beloved wife of the late Aaron Monka; and dear sister of Mary Tournour (predeceased) and Arthur (Anne) Tournour (both predeceased).

Cherished aunt to over 20 nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Aggie grew up in Toronto.

She started work at Royal Insurance right after high school, working her way up from the mail room to be a valued member of the payroll department.

After her retirement from Royal Insurance, she worked for many years at the Toronto District School Board also in the payroll department.

She was an active volunteer for over 20 years at St. John's Rehab Centre in North York. She also spent many years as an active member of the Catholic Women's League.

Perhaps what Aggie will be most remembered for was her kind and generous nature. She was always available to help family, friends or neighbors, and readily shared her warm smile and welcoming nature with everyone she met.

Aggie passed away peacefully, on September 13, 2023, at Andy's House Hospice in Port Carling, Muskoka, with family by her side. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St.). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at St. Paschal's Church (92 Steeles Ave. W.), at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow.

If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to Andy's House Hospice or to St. John's Rehab Centre.
