ANNIS, Bruce  - Bruce Annis passed away at his home, on September 23, 2023, at the age of 80.

He was a loving husband to Dina for 54 years; father of Sarah, and Evelyn (Paul); and grandfather of Hayley and Lindsay.

His mother, Francis; father, David; and brother, George, predeceased him.

Bruce graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design University with a degree in industrial design.

He subsequently studied at the University of Guelph, graduating with an honours BA degree in fine art. He became an award-winning film editor, working for many years at the CBC and then freelance.

Bruce had an exceptional way of seeing life and objects in new and sometimes peculiar ways that would never occur to most of the world.

He always enjoyed working with his hands solving questions with ingenious solutions whether it required fabricating car parts, digging out and creating a basement apartment, or single-handedly replacing all his roof tiles.

He had a wonderful laugh and a great sense of humour and could be joyously self-deprecating. One always felt uplifted after spending time with him. He was a lifelong sports fan and championed both of his daughters in their pursuits of mastering soccer and ice hockey. Their photographs and many trophies are tributes to this.

In later years, he doted on his granddaughters, experiencing a second childhood with their first.

He was a "one of a kind" and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Bruce's Life will take place at some point in the near future.

Please consider donations in Bruce's memory through the Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
