De Carlo CarminaDE CARLO, Carmina (Carmelina)   -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmelina De Carlo, at 11 p.m. on September 24, 2023, in Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto.

Carmelina is survived by her sister, Christina De Carlo; her brother, Nick De Carlo; as well as her cousin, Jeni De Carlo (Jerold Hodge); her nephews, Francis, Michael (Martha Leonard), John and Andrew; and her great-niece and nephews (Isla, Declan, Lucius, and Julius).

Her deep-felt generosity and love of family touched us all.

Her family and her many friends deeply miss her – such a sweet person. Trained in social work at St. Patrick's College in Ottawa (Carleton), Carm's career as a social worker touching many Ontario families spanned over forty years.

She also served a period as president of her (OPSEU) union local. She was a loving and dedicated worker.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will take place at Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W. Visitation, Sunday, October 1st, from 2-5 and 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, October 2nd, at 10 a.m. followed by a light lunch. Burial follows.

The family thanks the nurses and doctors of Sunnybrook Hospital for their dedicated care. As well a special thanks to Dr. Mak at Mount Sinai and Dr. Cusimano at Toronto General. Donations in Carmelina's name may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
