MacGRATH, Catherine (nee Tubridy)  - Catherine passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on October, 17, 2017 after living with dementia for a number of years.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband Shaun (1987) and is survived by her three children, Ellen, Joanne (Scott Marriott) and Frank (Mary Lynn).

She was the much loved grandmother, fondly known as "Uh Oh", to Sarah, Matthew and Connor MacGrath. Born in Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland in 1930, Catherine was the youngest of nine children. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary, Francis, Patrick, Michael, Gerard, Breda and Elsie. She is survived by her brother William Tubridy (Elsa) of Toronto, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews who remember her fondly.

More than sixty years ago Catherine and Shaun immigrated to Toronto where they built a wonderful life together. In her later years Catherine loved to spend time travelling with Ellen, visiting Joanne and Scott in Australia and spending time with Frank and Mary Lynn and her beloved grandchildren.

Friends are invited to celebrate Catherine's life and share some memories at the visitation at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street) on Monday, October 23rd between 2:30 - 4:30 and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Church, 3220 Bayview Avenue, North York (1 light north of Finch on the west side of Bayview). Cremation to follow. There will be a reception in the parish hall immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider making a donation in Catherine's memory to The Alzheimer Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

Special thanks to the staffs of both Brookside Retirement Home and the Elginwood Long Term Care where Catherine spent her final years. Our family greatly appreciates the compassionate care that Catherine received from the doctors, nurses and personal support workers at both facilities.
