McGRATH, Iris (née Hollyoak) – Passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 in Whitby, Ontario.
She was 87 years old.
Loving mother of George and his wife Sheila, beloved Granny to Jill Barker (Brian), Amber Elsom (Richard), and Christopher, and ‘G Granny’ to Sophie, Ellie, and Lily.
Iris is predeceased by her treasured husband of 55 years, Alexander, her parents George and Frances, and her brothers George and Frederick (Eilish).
She will be fondly remembered and missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, nurses, and colleagues.
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Iris moved to Canada in 1975.
Iris lived her life through love and music, especially Andy Williams. She will forever be remembered as kind, compassionate, loving, and an eternal caregiver.
Guests will be received at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 from 11:00am - 12:30pm, funeral service to follow at 12:30pm. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at the Village of Taunton Mills, Dunlop Wing.
