SIMPSON, Robert David  - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert (Bob) Simpson on October 23rd at St. Michael's Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Suffering for some time with pulmonary fibrosis, his death was very sudden. He will be terribly missed by his beloved family: his wife Mary, his son Scott, his daughter Lisa McQuarrie and his son-in-law Scott McQuarrie.

Fun-loving grandfather of Bailey and Anna, dear brother of Kathie Neely (Brian, deceased), Donna Burns (Bill, deceased), brother-in-law of Barb (Dave, deceased), lovingly remembered by his nieces and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Valerie and his parents, Rev. James Simpson and Florence Simpson. As a Teacher, Principal, and Special Education Supervisor with the Scarborough Board of Education, what stood out was his genuine interest and affection for the young people in his charge.

A warm, caring, gentle person with a great sense of humour, he was equally at home in downtown Toronto or at his cottage.

Constantly broadening his horizons, he loved reading, travelling, jazz, cryptic crosswords, Bridge, new beers and language learning. His insight and considerable leadership skills will be sorely missed at Trinity St. Paul's United Church, St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge and King Cyrus Chapter RAM. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Michael's Hospital for their amazing, compassionate care.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 11 a.m. at Trinity St. Paul's United Church, 427 Bloor St. W., Toronto. Reception to follow.

If desired, donations may be made to Trinity St. Paul's United Church or St. Michael's Hospital Foundation, 30 Bond St., Toronto, M5B 1W8.
