HERRERA, Hammond Ambrose (aka TRINI) - 60 years of age, departed this life after a protracted illness, on Monday October 23, 2017 at the Scarborough General Hospital, surrounded by loving family members.
Born in Trinidad, West Indies, Hammond, the last child of Reynold (deceased) and Irma Herrera arrived in Toronto in his middle teens. He married Cheryl Simmons and together, raised Shawn, Derrick and Chantal. A fourth child, Vanessa Wilson lives in Courtenay, B.C. Together, they have given him six grand-children. He was predeceased by siblings, Herman Herrera, Helen Dedier and Rolph Herrera; and survived by Erica Herrera and Halcyon Manchew.
He will be lovingly remembered by many other extended family members and friends, as well.
Family and friends will be received at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E on Tuesday October 31, 2017 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel, at this same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Scott Mission in Hammond's name would be appreciated.
