EDWARDS, John Stephen - John was born on November 30, 1957 in Toronto, Ontario to Thora and Jim Edwards and was youngest brother to Anne and Jim.
John passed away suddenly October 22, 2017.
He spent much time as a child in the hills of Caledon where his life's passion for the natural world was nurtured.
John surrounded himself with a menagerie of animals, birds and insects and avidly collected objects and curiosities which he shared with everyone.
His uniquely fertile imagination found a place in the numerous gardens, paintings and sculptures he created.
He met and married Shelagh Lenore Leeming and together they raised two children Oliver and Hanah, who were the center of his life. He attended Seneca College and furthered his knowledge of landscaping design with a special interest in arboriculture.
He often worked with his son in constructing award winning gardens in Toronto's west end.
He was much loved by his family and many friends and his generosity and exceptional ability to make people laugh will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life for John will be held at the Crooked Cue, 3056 Bloor St. W., on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 1 - 4 p.m. Arrangements with the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel.
