ARTS, Rien (Marinus Wilhelmus)  - May 15, 1930 – October 30, 2017

Our father Rien passed away peacefully at home at The Houses of Providence.

He was predeceased by his "Sweetheart" Agnes, cherished father to Baya, Helma (Rob) and Marilyn (Bruce).

Adored Opa to Jess (Hugh), Amelia (Liam), Sarah, Aubrey (Maddy) and Garnet. Beloved Uncle Rien to Joanne (George), Rainey (Linda), Tom (Brenda), Pat (Donna) and Michele in Alberta. Survived by siblings Riet, Wiel, Piet and Herman in the Netherlands.

Predeceased by Anneke, Gradus, Greet, Henk, Toon, Jack, Jo, Cory and Sjef. Born in the Netherlands and married April 15, 1958. Arrived in Canada May 1, 1958.

Most remembered as a fine cabinetmaker, owner and operator of Rien Arts Custom Woodwork. We are grateful to the staff at The Houses of Providence for their care and compassion.

Gathering of Family and Friends at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough, Friday November 3, 5-8 p.m. Funeral on Saturday, November 4, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Highland Creek, 200 Morrish Rd., Scarborough. Reception immediately following in the church hall.
