DILLING, Dorothy Lorraine   - November 4, 1929 - November 4, 2017

Peacefully at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital - Centenary Site after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Walter and Irene Leaper of Ingersoll.

Predeceased by brothers Ross (Betty) and Allan (Gail), Lorraine leaves her husband Dr. Harold J. (Bud) Dilling, a sister-in-law Gail Leaper (Robert Laidlaw), nephews Mark (Caroline) Leaper and Kirk Leaper, grandnieces Marie, Meagan and Sarah (Leaper), a grandnephew Andrew (Leaper) and a brother-in-law Clarence Dilling and his family in Sarnia

Charitable work, after her retirement (1986), included fundraising and musical performances in seniors' homes. This resulted in her being awarded The Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada in 1992.

She also found time to write and publish her biography, Growing Up Small, in 2011. Lorraine will always be remembered by her family and friends for her cheery disposition and her incredibly positive ways in dealing with people.

Visitation at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough, on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will occur later in Elora.
