GIES, Ednamae Loretta - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, a Great-Grandmother and Woman.
Ednamae Gies passed away peacefully on November 5, 2017, at MacKenzie Health Hospital after a brief illness.
Loving Mother to Sandra (Peter) Recine, Sheryl (Gary Dance) McKinley and Michele (Michael) Randall. Predeceased by her daughter, Susan Simon.
Will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Christopher (Tina) Recine, Angela (Matt) Houston, Michael (Lisa) McKinley, Stephen (Brittany) Recine, Jennifer (Evan) McKinley, Brandon (Milana) Simon, Andrew (Holly) Recine, Ryan (Monica) Simon, Paul Randall and James Randall. Adored by her great-grandchildren: Cole, Grayson, Olivia, Ally, Finn and Ekaterina Susan. Fondly remembered by George and the entire Gies family. Family was everything to Mom/ Grandma and while we will miss her dearly, we are stronger because of her love and will carry on as a tribute to her.
The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd. E., on Tuesday, November 7th from 5 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday, November 8th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at the funeral home within the Chapel, on Thursday, November 9th at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow.
