MADDEN, Eugene  - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Madden on November 6, 2017 at the age of 74.

Eugene will be lovingly remembered by Norah, his wife of 46 years, by his daughters Kyla, Nuala (Gareth Dodds) and Aileen, his grandsons Aidan and Liam, his brothers Harry, Frank, Laurence, Richard and Martin, his sisters Margaret (O'Brien), Dorothy (Russell), Deirdre (Havey) and Mary Olive (Campbell) and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Henry Madden, his mother Sarah and his brother James.

Eugene was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1943. He trained as a teacher in Manchester before immigrating to Canada in 1969.

He was a keen rugby player and a gifted storyteller, whose presence filled a room and who made friends wherever he went. Above all, he was a loving husband, a proud father, and a pillar of strength for those who needed him.

Visitation at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, on Friday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick's Catholic Church, 921 Flagship Drive, Mississauga, on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the PSP Society of Canada, www.psp.org.
