Passed away on November 9th, 2017 at the age of 89, in her lifetime home of Oshawa. We, Connie's family have lost much but have so very much to be grateful for.

Mom loved her family first and foremost.

She married Bud, her husband of 59 years on August 12th, 1944. She was a gentle, loving mother to her 8 children and their spouses, 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

We all loved her tremendously and will miss her quiet strength, charm, sense of humour, the delight she took in her grandchildren, and her enthusiasm and endurance for late-night Jays or Leafs games.

She was predeceased by her husband and our father, Bud Galt, in 2003, and by her parents Eva Madeline Western (Smith) and Charles Western, her sisters Norma Brockman, Marie Tarrant, Jean Rolson, Elsie Jarvis, and her brother Alex Western.

She leaves behind: Donna and Robert Beaton and their children Lisa (Terrence Sooley), Rob, and Darren (Michelle); Sandra and David Bennet and their children Tracey, Bonnie, and Bill (Lisa); Linda and Dennis Shangraw and their children Kevin (Julie) and Shelley (Frank Hall); Sylvia Galt and Rick Yde, and her children Nicole, Dana and Thomas; Deborah and Chris Cuoco and their children Sarah (Rick Mayer), Clinton (Diane), Michael (Carrie), and Christina; and Tim and Lisa Galt and their children Derek (Misty), Matthew (Lindsey); Tracie and Thomas Bronishewski and their children Ryan (Kate) and Emily (Grant Kusler); Darcie and Dennis Czop and their children Josh (Amy), Ben (Dom), Ashley and Tyler (Jaime).

She is also survived by her sisters Wanda Killeleagh (Pat) and Barbara Aselstine (the late John) and her brother Newton Western (Megan), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, November 16th from 1:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Family flowers only please.

For those who wish, please make remembrance donations to a charity of your choice.

Mothers hold their children's hands for just a little while…and their hearts forever.
