CRABBE, Gabrielle Joan (nee Silo)  - September 29, 1923-November 25, 2017

Passed away peacefully at Etobicoke General Hospital on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in her 95th year.

Beloved wife of Ian (deceased). Dear mother of Elizabeth (Gary), Josephine (Steve), Cathie (Jim) and Joan (Bob).

Loving Grannie to Jennifer (Dana), Stephanie (Matt) and Kristen (Dennis), Trevor (Emily) and Elizabeth, Caitlin (Mike), Kimberly (Jared) and Jacquie. Great-Grannie of Ashleigh, Sophie, Makaylah, Brayden, Brody and Emily.

Predeceased by parents George and Mary Silo (nee Simpson), sisters Molly, Rosa, Lily, Josephine, Monica, Georgie and Dorothea and her brothers Simpson and George all of Northern Ireland, Ireland and England.

Gabrielle was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland as the youngest and then last survivor of 10 children. Gabrielle was a World War II Veteran doing her duty in the Women's Royal Navy Service (WRNS) working in the provisions division Belfast. She married Ian in 1945 and they immigrated to Canada with their eldest two daughters in 1956.

Gabrielle worked in the insurance industry up until the birth of their fourth daughter. Later, she returned to the workforce as an office administrator for Dural Products Limited in North York and remained there until her retirement. Gabrielle will always be remembered for her hard work ethic, her sense of humour and her dedication and devotion to her family who were everything to her. We will miss her very much.

Resting at the Newediuk Fueral Home, 2058 Kipling Avenue, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Funeral service in the chapel to follow at 1:00 p.m.
