RAYMOND, Joan    - (born Dorothy Joan Timmins) died peacefully on November 24, 2017 in Toronto at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

She was 86.  Joan was born on December 16, 1930 in Toronto.

Joan graduated from Montreal's Royal Victoria College with a nursing degree. Later she attended Columbia University in NYC and earned a Master's Degree in psychiatric nursing. Joan practiced and taught nursing and for a time she worked as a Psychotherapist in the Philadelphia region. Joan moved to Toronto in 1972 and married John Raymond.

She continued to practice nursing and taught at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry and the University of Toronto.

Joan is survived by her sister, Anne, her nieces and nephews, Stephen, Julie, Gretchen and Rebecca Timmins, Jennifer, Matthew, Sarah and James Synnestvedt and Jim and Debbie Bevan and Sandy Bevan Bradfield, as well as by many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, John Raymond, by her brothers, James and Donald Timmins and by her nephew, David Timmins. Joan was loved by many dear friends who showed her incredible warmth and hospitality.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Olivet Church, 279 Burnhamthorpe Road, Etobicoke, Ontario. Reception to follow.
